Riley Oickle’s Journey
Riley grew up in a very rural place in Nova Scotia, Canada where he was a track and field star during his teenage years. He attended Western University in London, Ontario where he started networking and building a home maintenance company. Eventually, Riley started coaching other students on how to start a business through the Student Works organization.
First Steps in Real Estate Investing
Riley started his journey in the real estate industry as the Head of Acquisitions & Property Management for a successful real estate investor. This is where he learned all of the ins and outs of finding off-market properties, raising capital, dealing with tenants, overseeing renovations and managing finances for a large portfolio.
Ultimately, this gave him the knowledge and confidence to transition into buying his own rental properties. He founded RO Capital Investments Inc. and started purchasing rental properties. He lived on job sites, knocked on doors to find off-market deals, and began building a team to help with the workload.
Buying Properties & Founding RentalConsulting.com
Riley used creative financing strategies and the BRRRR method to acquire rental properties across Canada, while managing 80 units for himself and other investors. In early 2021, he launched RentalConsulting.com to help investors find and acquire rental properties without trial and error.
Today, Riley owns a real estate portfolio that consists of both long-term and short-term rental properties, including single-family homes to large multi-family properties across six different markets in Canada. He continues to develop systems and processes while expanding his own portfolio of rental properties.
